67th BPSC Bihar PCS 2021 dates have been postponed and would be released soon on the official website bpsc.bih.nic.in. The exam was earlier due in January 2022. Candidates who want to appear in the exam can note the BPSC Bihar PCS Syllabus and the BPSC exam pattern in the article below.
After UPPSC PCS Exam, BPSC is the exam that has the maximum number of candidates to appear in it. So the candidates are advised to study as per the syllabus as thE competition in this exam is too high.

BPSC Bihar PCS 2021: Exam Pattern
BPSC like UPSC is conducted in three parts:
- BPSC Prelims
- BPSC Mains
- BPSC Interview or Personality Test
Those who appear and clear BPSC Prelims appear in BPSC Mains and those who clear the Mains finally appear for the BPSC Personality Test.
Bihar PCS 2021 Syllabus:
BPSC Prelims Syllabus:
The BPSC Prelims consists of the following topics
- General Science: Questions would be regarding the general understanding of science. This includes everyday observation and experience up to the class 10th syllabus.
- Current events of national and international importance
- History of India and salient features of the history of Bihar: History of India (Ancient, Medival and Modern) and history of the state of Bihar. Maximum emphasis is to be given to the history of the state.
- General Geography and geographical division of Bihar and its major river systems: This section would question the candidate’s knowledge of the Geography of India and Bihar. It would include the physical, social and economic Geography of the country and the main features of Indian agricultural and natural resources.
- Indian Polity including major changes in the polity after independence in the country.
- Economy and major changes in the economy of Bihar in the post-independence period
- Questions on General Mental Ability: This section tests the logical reasoning of the candidates.
BPSC Bihar PCS Mains Syllabus:
General Hindi: This paper consists of an essay of 30 marks along with Hindi grammar tests. It tests the general knowledge of the Hindi language of any candidate. Take a note below:
- Essay: 30 Marks
- Grammar: 30 Marks
- Syntax: 25 Marks
- Summarisation: 15 Marks
General Studies Paper 2
This includes various topics like Indian Polity
- Indian economy and Geography of India
- The role and impact of science and technology in the development of India.
- In Paper II, questions would be asked on Indian Polity including the political system in India and Bihar.
- Indian Economy and Geography of India- Questions asked would include planning, physical, the economic and social geography of India and Bihar.
- Candidates would also be questioned on science & technology in the development of India. questions will be asked to test the candidate’s awareness of the role and impact of science and technology in India and Bihar Emphasis will be on applied aspects.

Optional Paper 3
The candidates are required to select one optional subject out of the subjects in total. There will be only one optional subject exam for 300 marks. The syllabus would be equivalent to the Honours course that is a 3-year course at Patna University.
