Focus On Competency-Based Questions

Special Exams for Athletes and Olympiad Participants

In 2025, CBSE will conduct special exams for students participating in national or international sports events and recognised olympiads. The initiative, which began in 2018, allows students to balance academic commitments with extracurricular activities. Students whose board exams dates clash with events recognised by SAI or BCCI, including travel dates, will be eligible for this provision .

Mandatory 75% Attendance for Class 10 and 12

CBSE has introduced a rule requiring students to maintain at least 75% attendance to be eligible for the board exams. Exceptions will be made for medical emergencies, sports events, or other significant reasons, provided valid documentation is submitted. Students may receive up to 25% attendance relaxation if needed.

CBSE has made it mandatory for all affiliated schools to install CCTV cameras in exam halls. Schools without permanent camera setups will not be considered eligible as exam centers for board exams. This policy will come into effect starting with the 2025 board exams to strengthen exam security.

Sub-Regional Office to Open in Tripura

To address the underperformance of state-run CBSE-affiliated schools in Tripura, CBSE will open a sub-regional office in Agartala. Recent exam results showed only 61% of Class 10 students and 59% of Class 12 students passed. The schools, formerly under the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), were renamed Vidyajyoti schools in 2018 and switched to CBSE's English-medium curriculum.
