CBSE Board Exams 2025 Schedule Announced
The central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the schedule for the 2025 examination for class 10 and 12. The exams will commence from February 15, 2025, with Class 10 exams concluding by March 18, while Class 12 exams will wrap up on April 4.
CBSE Practical Exam Dates 2025
Practical exams, internal assessments, and project work for the 2024-25 academic year are set to begin on January 1, 2025.
Focus On Competency-Based Questions
In the 2025 class 12 board exams, there will be more emphasis on competency-based questions. These questions are designed to assess students ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world situations, in line with the objectives of NEP 2020.

Special Exams for Athletes and Olympiad Participants
In 2025, CBSE will conduct special exams for students participating in national or international sports events and recognised olympiads. The initiative, which began in 2018, allows students to balance academic commitments with extracurricular activities. Students whose board exams dates clash with events recognised by SAI or BCCI, including travel dates, will be eligible for this provision .
Mandatory 75% Attendance for Class 10 and 12
CBSE has introduced a rule requiring students to maintain at least 75% attendance to be eligible for the board exams. Exceptions will be made for medical emergencies, sports events, or other significant reasons, provided valid documentation is submitted. Students may receive up to 25% attendance relaxation if needed.
Mandatory CCTV Installation in Exam Halls
CBSE has made it mandatory for all affiliated schools to install CCTV cameras in exam halls. Schools without permanent camera setups will not be considered eligible as exam centers for board exams. This policy will come into effect starting with the 2025 board exams to strengthen exam security.
Sub-Regional Office to Open in Tripura
To address the underperformance of state-run CBSE-affiliated schools in Tripura, CBSE will open a sub-regional office in Agartala. Recent exam results showed only 61% of Class 10 students and 59% of Class 12 students passed. The schools, formerly under the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), were renamed Vidyajyoti schools in 2018 and switched to CBSE's English-medium curriculum.
CBSE Expands Globally: Office in Dubai
CBSE has taken a significant step in global expansion by opening its first overseas Regional Office (RO) and Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Dubai. This move aims to enhance the reach of Indian education in the UAE and better serve the growing number of Indian students abroad.
