What is the syllabus for SSC JE Paper 1?

SSC JE syllabus for Paper 1 is the first stage of the SSC JE exam recruitment. The SSC JE tier 1 exam is held in online mode. All the questions are objective in nature. Candidates will be given time duration of 2 Hours to complete the paper. The following subjects will be asked in the SSC JE Tier 1 exam: 

(i) General Intelligence and Reasoning

(ii) General Awareness

(iii) General Engineering- Civil and Structural/Electrical/Mechanical

SSC JE Syllabus for General Intelligence and Reasoning

SSC JE syllabus for General Intelligence and Reasoning aims to test the candidate’s aptitude, arithmetical skills and reasoning skills. The test will also include questions to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, arithmetical computations and other analytical functions. Questions from topics such as analogy, similarities and differences, discrimination, blood relation, inequality, etc are asked. SSC JE Syllabus for General Awareness

SSC JE General Awareness syllabus will test if the candidate is well aware of the latest happenings in and around the world or not. Other than this, the candidates must also be versed in static GK. Some of the important topics related to SSC JE general awareness syllabus are as follows: 

SSC JE Civil Syllabus 

The candidates who chose Civil Engineering in the SSC JE application form will appear for the Civil paper. SSC JE civil syllabus shall consist of topics that include, Estimating, Costing and Valuation, Theory of Structures,RCC Design, Steel Design, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Transportation Engineering, Building Materials, Hydraulics, Irrigation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Concrete Technology. 

SSC JE Electrical Syllabus 

The SSC JE Electrical syllabus shall consist of questions from topics that include Fractional Kilowatt Motors and single-phase induction Motors, Estimation and Costing, Utilization and Electrical Energy, Basic Electronics, Basic concepts, Circuit law, Magnetic Circuit, AC Fundamentals, Transmission and Distribution, Measurement and Measuring instruments, Electrical Machines, Synchronous Machines, Generation. 

SSC JE Mechanical Syllabus 

SSC JE Mechanical syllabus is vast, however, conceptual clarity is needed to solve the questions in it. Questions from topics such as  Dynamics of Ideal Fluids, Fluid Kinematics, IC Engines, Thermodynamics Measurement of Fluid Pressure, Theory of Machines and Machine Design, Rankine cycle of Systems, Fitting & Accessories, Hydraulic Turbines, IC Engines, Boilers, Refrigeration cycles, Measurement of Flow rate, etc will be asked. 

SSC JE Syllabus 2023 for Tier 2

The candidates who qualify the SSC JE tier 1 exam shall be called to appear for the SSC JE Tier 2 exam. SSC JE Paper 2 syllabus is for a total of 300 marks with 100 questions in total. All the questions are objective in nature. The standard of the questions will be approximately of the level of a Diploma in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical). Candidates will have to attempt any one of the following subjects that were chosen by them while filling up the application form.
