The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the results of University Grants Commission's National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) today. This was probably the last time that the CBSE had conducted the UGC NET Examination. From next year onwards, the UGC-NET exam would be conducted by the newly-formed National Testing Agency (NTA). This year UGC-NET exam was conducted on July 8.

This has happened for the first time in the UGC-NET history that the CBSE has released the results within the same month of conducting the examination. Earlier, the UGC-NET used to be declared by the CBSE after three to four months of holding the exam. This year, a total of 11.48 lakh candidates took the eligibility test across 91 cities. The examination was conducted in 84 different subjects.

Earlier, there were reports that CBSE is working towards releasing the results by end of this month, and most likely on July 31, 2018. However, the sources also had said that the results will be out latest by August 4, which will be within one month on the conduct of the exam.
