Online Classes for Delhi Students: Delhi Government Schools are all set to launch online interactive classes for students from 1st April 2020 amid the COVID-19 lockdown. The decision was taken considering the time lost by students due to the exams and classes being suspended due to the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country. Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia confirmed the development via a tweet from his official handle. In his message, he confirmed that Delhi Government schools will launch online interactive classes soon. He also said that the Delhi Government has also approached CBSE Board to check feasibility of holding classes for CBSE School students as well.
Classes for 12th Students to Start in 1st Week of April
According to the tweet sent out by Manish Sisodia, the online interactive classes will first be held for 12th Class students, which will go live by 1st week of April. Following this, a similar arrangement will be made for 10th Class students to ensure that they do not lose out on important time before the exams. Delhi Government has already decided to promote students of Class 9 to Class 10 and the virtual classes will be held for them as well.
Classes via Internet, Television, Phone
With internet being the most preferred medium for virtual interactive classes, Delhi Government is exploring the option to hold classes via internet connectivity. However, in case the internet connectivity is not available to all the students, the government might also launch classes via television and telephone for the students. In fact, for 8th Class students, only activity classes are planned which will be held via telephone and television or the internet as a medium. Students will be provided activities to be done via phone.
Delhi Government has assured students that the online classes being planned by the government would be completely free of cost. In fact, government is also planning to provide students the necessary data packages to be used for downloading and other purposes.
