Delhi University to conduct Assignment submissions and Viva Voce via email and Skype for internal assessment

Delhi University has introduced procedures to be followed in order to conduct the internal assessment, practicals, viva-voce, projects, oral exams, apprenticeship, internship, fieldwork, etc which has to be completed before the end term theory examination. Ir has to be noted that the internal assessment will be effective only for the present semester. 

Instead of three existing components of internal assessment, only one component which is the internal assignment will be considered for the present semester. The university has informed that the internal assessment for the present semester will be carried out by using IT tools. 

The university teachers are also required to give out the assignment to the students via email and the same are to be submitted via email by the students after completing. 

Attendance for evaluation

The attendance part of the internal assessment will be considered full for the lockdown period which will benefit and also be granted to the students when calculating the Internal Assessment for each paper according to the distribution of marks. 

Practical Examinations

With respect to the programmes which have a practical component, the evaluation will be 100 percent continuous evaluation. For the lab papers, teachers will be giving assignments via mail to the students based on experiments already performed earlier. The students are required to submit the assignments via mail itself. 

In the case of the final and intermediate semester students of all the professional and technical programmes, the activities including practical and Viva-Voce and the oral exams will be conducted via skype and other online platforms. 

Internship Evaluation

The university has decided that the students can take up online internship activities which include activities that can be performed online. The students can also engage as interns in the ongoing projects and the date for the start of the internship can be delayed further. The university will reduce the period of internship which will be clubbed with the assignments given. 

Dissertations Evaluations

The university has stated that the evaluation of the dissertations of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes have to be conducted by considering the write assignments based on the work done by the students before the lockdown. These evaluations will be done in the form of a written assignment by the teachers via email within a defined time period. 

The colleges have also been directed by the university to accept review based or secondary data-based projects for through software-driven projects instead of laboratory-based experiments or field or survey-based assignments.
