NEET PG Counselling 2024: The Medical Counselling Committee has issued the revised information bulletin for the NEET PG counselling process. It must be noted that the counselling registration has commenced and the last date for students to apply for round 1 counselling is November 17, 2024.The revised counselling information bulletin includes updates regarding the Armed Forces Medical Services counselling and eligibility requirements.

As per the details provided, the Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services will be conducting the counselling process for Priority 3, 4 and 4 candidates seeking admissions to Armed Forces Medical Services Postgraduate Teaching Institutes. 

The Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) will provide MCC with an eligibility list of Priority 3 and 4 candidates after reviewing their applications. 

Candidates registering under priority 5 will be counselled and provisionally allotted a seat based on their merit and seat availability. The medical examination for these candidates will be held at the institute where the candidates are provisionally assigned. 

NEET PG 2024 Counselling for Armed Forces Medical Services

The Armed Forces Medical Services conducts postgraduate training at AFMS PG Teaching Institutes for in-service medical officers to meet specialist requirements. Additional seats are offered to eligible civilian candidates based on priority systems approved by the government. Civilian doctors admitted to postgraduate courses at AFMS institutions are required to serve as Short-Service Commissioned Officers for five years in AFMS. 

Priority-I: AFMS Officers detailed on Advance Specialist Course/ PG courses.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET PG Counselling AFMC

  • Admissions to the PG courses at Armed Forces Medical Services institutions is available to graduates of medical colleges recognised by the NMC. 
  • Candidates must also register as medical practitioners with any state medical council recognised by the NMC. 
  • All applicants except for Priority 2 candidates must be Indian citizens. 
  • Eligibility for priority 3 and 4 candidates will be provided by DGAFMS
  • The maximum age limit for priority 5 candidates is 30 years as on December 31, 2024.
