Despite quite a few reminders given by the Gujarat University (GU), many of the commerce colleges affiliated under the universities didn’t provided their admission details to the University on time. The admissions were concluded in the month of August and there are many colleges under GU who have come under scrutiny for this unnecessary delay on their part.
This is the first time that there has been a centralized admission system in these colleges and thus the university has demanded a clear and concise report of the admissions in the colleges functioning under the university. After various rounds of centralized admissions procedures there were quite a few seats that remained vacant and the GU authorities has given the responsibility of filling those seats to the individual colleges. GU authorities are now seeking for the admission details in order to check that whether these colleges have abide by the rules regarding the cut-off marks to get in the students or they have violated the rules and let students in who haven’t scored the cut off marks.
The GU authorities are seeking for the reports for a better idea about the newly conducted centralized admission policy so that they can conduct the same in an error free manner from the next year. But unfortunately very few colleges have submitted their reports as of now making it difficult for the authorities to prepare their report over the overall admission procedure.
On the other hand there are few commerce colleges in the city who are crying foul against the GU authority on the account of heavy mis-management from their side and blamed the university to release the funds late which made it impossible for the college authorities to make payments for the teachers for the month of September.
