Maths Differential Equations Formulas: Calculus comprises a major part of the curriculum of the CBSE Class 12 mathematics course. Several chapters from books 1 and 2 of the NCERT math book cover integration and differentiation.
The 12th Class Chapter 9 Differential Equations is also among them and is one of the longest and most critical chapters. Differential Equations is a topic of paramount importance in mathematics and also has applications in physics, chemistry, biology, economics and geology. Students need to master differential equations as it’s not only required in other scientific fields but is also essential from an exam perspective.
There are numerous formulas, theorems, identities and rules that students need to learn in differential equations. They help simplify complex equations and solve problems quickly. On that note, we bring you the following CBSE Class 12 Maths Chapter 9 Differential Equations Formulas. Be sure to check them out while studying the chapter.

Differential Equations
An equation involving derivatives of the dependent variable with respect to the independent variable (variables) is known as a differential equation.
Order and Degree of a Differential Equation
The order of the highest order derivative occurring in the differential equation.
The degree of a differential equation is defined if it is a polynomial equation in its
derivatives. It is the highest power (positive integer only) of the highest order derivative in it.
Solved Example
Find the order and degree of the following differential equation:: y’’’ + 2y’ + sin y = 0
Answer:
The given differential equation is, y’’’ + 2y’ + sin y = 0
The highest-order derivative present in the differential equation is y'''.
The order is three.
Then the power raised to y''' is 1.
Therefore, its degree is one.
