There  are  approx 14582 vacancies available to recruit in different departments and Ministries as per the notification.  However, final vacancies  will  be  determined  in  due  course. Candidates  may  note  that State-wise/  Zone-wise  vacancies  are  not  collected by  the  Commission. Candidates are advised to approach the concerned User Departments for information pertaining to zone-wise/state-wise vacancies

As per the selection process, the Tier-I exam will consist of Objective Type with multiple choice questions. The Tier I examination will comprise of 100 questions and maximum marks will be 200. The exam duration is for 1 hour and there will be negative marking in the test.

Candidates applying for SSC CGL posts should have posts wise educational qualification as given below-

Junior Statistical Officer

• Candidates should have Bachelor's Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level; Or
• Bachelor' s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Statistical Investigator Grade-II 

• Bachelor's Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute.
• The candidates should havestudied the subject of Statistics at Degree Level in Part-I, Part-II and Part-III or in all the six semesters of three year degree course and not simply a paper in any part of the Degree or six semesters at degree level.

All other Posts:

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
• The candidates who have appeared in their final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification as on 01-08-2025.

Candidates will have to pay an application fee as Rs. 100/- (Rs one hundred only). Fees can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards. Online fee can be paid by candidates up to 05-07-2025 (23:00 hours).

The Commission has  released the detailed syllabus for General Awareness as- general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries, especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research. 

The Commission will release the details of the Information about the Examination indicating the time table and City/ Centre of examination for the candidates will be uploaded on the website of the Commission about 10 days before the date of examination.

Candidates will be provided the facility to download Admission Certificates 2-3 days before the examination on the website of the Commission. Candidates will have to bring a printout of the Admission Certificate to the Examination Hall.

As per earlier trends, to apply for SSC CGL posts 2025, candidates should have the age limit as given below-

The SSC CGL exam for 2025 will be conducted into two tiers includingTier 1 and Tier 2. The Tier 1 exam will be based on a computer-based online test with 100 multiple-choice questions, each worth 2 marks, for a total of 200 marks. Tier 2 consists of multiple papers, including Paper I (compulsory for all) and post-specific papers like Paper II for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO). Based on the marks scored in Tier-I i.e. Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II Examination. Candidates should note that the separate cut-offs will be fixed for the post of Junior Statistical Officer and Statistical Investigator (as mentioned in the notification) Grade-II for appearing in Paper-I & Paper-II of Tier-II and for all other posts for appearing in Paper-I of Tier-II.
