Changed Exam Pattern of NTA UGC NET Dec 2018 Exam

UGC NET 2018 Exam will be conducted in online mode to determine the candidate’s eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Assistant Professor only posts in Indian Universities and Colleges. It will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) consisting of two papers, i.e., Paper I and II conducted in two different sessions. Candidates are required to appear for both the papers in order to be eligible for JRF and Assistant Professor Posts:

Highlights of NTA UGC NET DECEMBER 2018 Online Exam

  • Both Paper-I and Paper-II were conducted in Online Mode.

  • Paper-I consisted of 50 MCQs of 2 Marks each consisting of questions from teaching and research aptitude logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, comprehension, data interpretation and general awareness.

  • Paper-II was based on the subject selected by the candidate having 100 MCQs of 2 Marks each.

  • There was a break of 30 minutes between Paper-I and Paper-II.

  • There was no negative marking.

  • All the questions were compulsory.

  • Both Paper-I and Paper-II had questions in English and Hindi Language. Candidates were supposed to answer the questions in the Language they opted before exam.

  • Candidates were required to bring Admit Card along with passport size photograph affixed on it; One passport size photograph to be affixed on attendance sheet; and ID Proof.Other than the above mentioned items candidates were not allowed to carry any other belongings to the exam. Candidates are advised not to bring any other item at the examination centres. There will not be any arrangement for safe keeping of any material at the centre. Neither NTA nor centre will be responsible for any loss, delay etc.

  • Candidates were given rough paper and pen by the examination center only.

  • Candidates were not allowed to leave the examination hall/room before the exam was concluded.

Important Points to Remember after NTA UGC NET DEC 2018 Exam

Candidates who appeared in the NYA UGC NET DEC 2018 Exam must have a look at the below points for the next selection process:

Result (10th January, 2019)

The result of UGC-NET Dec, 2018 will be uploaded on the website www.nta.ac.in/ www.ntanet.nic.in, as per schedule. The tentative result date is 10th January, 2019 as per the latest notification.

JRF Score Validity

The validity period of the offer is three years w.e.f the date of issue of JRF Award letter. However, in case the candidate who has already joined M.Phil. /Ph.D., the date of commencement of Fellowship shall be from the date of declaration of NET result or date of their joining, whichever is later.

NET E-Certificate

The role of NTA is only upto the conduct of NET Examination and declaration of result. The e-certificates to qualified candidate are issued by UGC- NET Bureau. So the candidates declared qualified in NET are informed to contact Head, UGC NET Bureau, University of Delhi, South Campus, Benito Juarez Marg , New Delhi, Pin Code-110021, Phone No. (011-24116316, 24115416, 24115419).
