CUET 2022: What to Expect About Syllabus, Pattern, Structure, Admission and Guidelines? Know Latest Updates

CUET 2022

CUET 2022: As per the latest updates, the University Grants Commission (UGC) announced to conduct Central University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions to UGC-affiliated central universities. The entrance exam is expected to be held in the first week of July 2022. National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the CUET. Following the marks secured in the entrance exam, each university will admit students based on a merit list prepared by NTA, and there will be no common counselling.

Hence, marks obtained in class 12th board exams will not carry any weightage in university admissions. The universities, however, â??â??can use the Board exam marks as an eligibility criterion for CUET. Based on the statement of the UGC chairman, here are the details about the CUET exam date, syllabus, exam structure, languages etc. 

CUET Exam Date 2022 

According to the UGC chairman CUET 2022 will most likely be conducted in the first week of July. Admission to undergraduate courses in UGC-affiliated Central universities will be based on the CUET score. Students who are in class 12th have to appear for an entrance test as per their respective subjects. The exam will be conducted in two shifts.

CUET Structure and Syllabus 2022 

CUET will carry multiple choice questions based on NCERT textbooks and students will be marked negatively for incorrect answers. The entrance test will have Section 1A, Section 1B, general test and domain-specific subjects. The CUET 2022 will be offered in 13 languages, namely Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi, Odia and English.

As per reports, the exam will be conducted in two shifts. In the first shift, students will have to appear for Section I (languages), two chosen domain subjects and the general test. In the second shift, they will appear for the other four domain subjects and an additional language test, if opted for.

CUET Pattern 2022 

As per the available information and media reports, section 1A will be compulsory and candidates will be able to choose the language of their choice. The section 1B will be optional for those who want to opt for another language apart from the ones that are a part of Section 1A. Some of the languages on offer are French, Arabic, German, etc. There are 27 test domains for the CUET 2022. Candidates can appear for two domain tests in the first shift and the remaining four domain tests in the second shift. It includes anthropology, bookkeeping, sociology, psychology, mathematics, political science, etc.

CUET Admission 2022 

Candidates can apply for admission by filling up the application form of CUET, once available. As per the notification released, the entrance exam application form will be available in the first week of April 2022. The registered candidates later can download their admit cards and will have to appear in the CUET exam 2022. All the participating central universities will conduct their own counselling process and release the admission list based on the scores secured in CUET 2022. 

CUET Participating Institutes 

Through CUET, candidates can get admission to undergraduate courses to UGC-affiliated central universities. Some of the central universities are - Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Visva Bharati University. However, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) are yet to decide on implementing the CUET.
