Delhi Deputy CM conducts online meeting

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister, Manish Sisodia conducted a meeting with the principals of more than 300 private schools in Delhi. The meeting was conducted via video call to discuss important issues like teaching through online mediums.

The Deputy Chief Minister also tweeted the same on social media tagging the meeting as productive. Issues like the well-being of the students and increasing the learning through online classes were discussed during the meeting.

The minister also took the opportunity to express his happiness over private schools using the Happiness Curriculum in their respective schools. During the lockdown period, the happiness classes were disrupted but then resumed later on by conducting them at home. The Deputy Chief Minister has also said that the happiness classes have an important role in the present time with the lockdown.

The minister pointed out that everyone is gripped with anxiety right now as there are not usual times and no one knows what can be done in the name of fun activity stating that going out, or going for movies or sitting in parks cannot be done and everyone is confined to their own homes.

The Delhi Government had earlier asked the private schools to avoid charging a three-month fee at a time during the lockdown and also has asked the schools to let the children attend online classes even though they are not able to pay the tuition fee.

Schools in Delhi and across the different parts of the country have been conducting the classes for the school's students online weeks before the 21-day lockdown was called for in the country. The decision to conduct classes online for students were brought in to make sure that the children do not lose out on classes and there is no barrier in their learning process during the lockdown.
