DigiLocker for Degree: As per the recent updates, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all the educational institutions to accept the educational documents including degrees, marksheets through DigiLocker platform. UGC issued a circular on its official website stating that the National Academic Depository (NAD) stored all the academic documents online.
So, to enhance the reach of NAD programmes, colleges are requested to accept the documents presented through DigiLocker. This digital platform facilitates students to get authentic certificates in digital format directly from the original issuers.
Authentic Certificates in Digital Format
DigiLocker facilitates students to get authentic certificates in digital format directly from the original issuers. Many state and Central boards like the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have already started providing results and certificates on DigiLocker.
Students can access their educational certificates by registering themselves using their Name, Date of birth, Mobile number, Email ID, and Aadhar card number. They can get access to DigiLocker through the application or the website. Registered students will be required to verify through their registered mobile number before accessing the digital documents.

Academic Institutions can register themselves and upload academic awards of their institution on NAD through DigiLocker NAD portal.”
Further the circular mentioned that, “The DigiLocker platform of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has the facility to pull students’ degree, marksheet and other documents into issued documents section in an electronic form once uploaded through the DigiLocker National Academic Depository (NAD) platform by the original issuer.”
