JEE Main 2022 Update: In a much needed and important update, NTA has announced the JEE Main 2022 No of Attempts Details as well as notified the JEE Main Eligibility Criteria Details today. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has notified the official eligibility criteria for candidates who want to appear for the JEE Main 2022 Engineering Entrance Exam. JEE Main 2022 To Be Held in Two Attempts / Sessions
Recently, NTA launched the updated website for JEE Main 2022 Examination along with details about the latest session of the examination. The JEE Main 2022 Introduction shared by NTA specifies that the engineering entrance exam would be held in two attempts only. The official notification available on website jeemain.nta.nic.in reads “The JEE (Main) – 2022 will be conducted in 02 (two) sessions for admissions in the next academic session.” Along with this, the notification also shares why only two attempts are being held for JEE Main 2022 Exam and how it would benefit appearing candidates.

- Improve Score as per Best of Two Formula: As per the details, JEE Main 2022 Two Attempt are being held to give candidates a chance to improve their score in the examination. The official notification reads “a candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the JEE (Main) – 2022 NTA Scores will be considered for preparation of Merit List/ Ranking.”
- Improve on Mistakes: Two attempts of JEE Main 2022 Exam will also allow candidates to familiarize themselves with the exam set-up and correct or improve upon their mistakes that they committed during the 1st
- No Need to Drop Year: JEE Main 2022 being held in two attempts will also reduce the need for students to take a drop year to prepare, in case they fail to perform well in one attempt.
- To Avoid Clash with Board, Other Exams: Two attempts of JEE Main 2022 will also give candidates an opportunity to avoid exam’s clash with other entrance exams and pick a session or attempt as per their availability and convenience.

JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria
In another important development, NTA has also notified the JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria for the upcoming Engineering Entrance Exam. On the eligibility front, candidates need to qualify the following criteria in order to appear for the engineering entrance exam:
- Age Limit: There is on age limit for appearing for JEE Main 2022 Exam. However, candidates should note that the institute’s might have age limit prescribed as part of their admission eligibility norms, which they have to qualify in order to seek admission.
- Academic Qualification: Candidates should have appeared / cleared class 12/equivalent examination in 2020, 2021, or should be appearing for it in 2022.
- Unqualified Candidates: An important point to note here is that, candidates who have appeared / passed for Class 12 / equivalent exam in 2019 or before are not eligible to appear for JEE Main 2022 exam. Similarly, candidates who will be appearing for Class 12 exam in 2023 are also not eligible to appear for JEE Main 2022.
