The State Education Minister has also confirmed that the Education Department along with the TSBSE is working on a detailed plan for the safe conduct of the exams and it will soon be shared with the Chief Minister Soon. As per the schedule announced earlier, Telangana 10th Exam 2020 were scheduled to be held from 8th June to 5th July 2020.

SSC Exam Postponed After HC Intervention

The delay or postponement in the Telangana SSC Exam 2020 comes in the wake of Telangana High Court’s intervention with regards to holding of the board exams. Earlier, Telangana HC ruled that SSC Board Exams cannot be held in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, or GHMC, and Ranga Reddy districts that reported high number of COVID-19 cases. The Court allowed the board to hold exams in every other district of the state. However, the state government has decided to cancel the SSC Board Exam 2020 for 10th class students across the state.

Students who Miss Exams to Appear for Supply Exam

Another important aspect that Telangana High Court ruled over was ordering the state government and TSBSE to allow students who are unable to appear for the SSC Exams 2020 currently, to appear for supplementary exams which will be held at a later date. The court said that students, whose parents are not confortable sending their children to appear for the exam amid the on-going pandemic, should be allowed to appear for supplementary exams as regular students. The bench also observed that marks memos of such students should show them as regular students not as ones passed in supplementary exams, which is considered to be a stigma. Supplementary Exams are likely to be held in months of August – Sept 2020.
