Uttar Pradesh Government has notified that private medical colleges offering Nursing and Paramedical courses can only charge fixed fees, as decided by the government. The decision comes in the wake of repeated complaints from students about private colleges and institutes charging exorbitant fees from students in the state. Until now, private medical colleges and institutes offering nursing and paramedical courses were allowed to decide their own fees for the courses. However, now with the fixed fee structure in place, students will only have to pay he fixed fees as notified by the State Medical Faculty. In case any institute fails to comply with the fixed fees notified by the UP Government, State Medical Faculty has been empowered to take action against such institutes.
Standard Course Fee for B.Sc Nursing & Paramedical Colleges
UP Government in its latest order has notified the fixed fee structure for B.Sc Nursing programme. The fees for the 4-year undergraduate level Nursing Course has been set at Rs 6000/- per month. Similarly, students taking up M.Sc course in Nursing will also have to pay Rs 6000/- per month as course fees at private institutes. Similarly, paramedical students pursing UG courses from private colleges in the state will also have to pay Rs 6000/- as the requisite fee. On the other hand, students of the 3-year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) will have to pay Rs 4500/- as the monthly fees while for Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery ANM the monthly fees stands at Rs 3000/-.
