OPSC Notified Recruitment to the Post of Public Prosecutor 2013

    Odisha Public Service Commission issued notification for recruitment to 11 posts of Public Prosecutor, in Group ‘A’ (Senior Branch) in the Odisha State Prosecution Service under Home Department. Interested candidates should apply online till 3 October 2013 (2359 hours).

    Pay Scale: Rs. 15600 - 39100 with Grade pay Rs. 6600

    Eligibility Criterion
    Age Limit: (as on 1 January 2013)
    Minimum: 21 years
    Maximum:  40 years,
    i.e. candidate must not have been born earlier than 2 January1973 and not later than 1 January 1992.

    Upper age limit is relax-able by 5 years for SC / ST / Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) / Women, and Ex-Servicemen candidates and by 10 years for Physically Handicapped candidates.

    Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law
    Experience: At least 10 (ten) years as practising Advocate.

    Language Knowledge: Candidate must be able to speak, read and write Odia and must have passed either the Middle School standard language test in Odia conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or the Matriculation (Class-X/10th standard) Examination with ‘Odia’ as a subject.

    Selection Procedure: Selection will be done on the basis of candidate’s performance in the Written Examination and Viva Voce Test.

    Written Examination: Eligible candidates will be required to appear at the Written Examination which will consist of four papers of total 800 marks.

    A candidate will have to answer all the papers, except translation in Odia paper, in English. The General English paper will be of Degree standard and other papers will be of LL.B. standard.
    The written examination is likely to be held in the month of December, 2013.

    Viva Voce Test: Candidates qualifying the Written Examination will be called for the Viva Voce Test that will carry 100 marks.

    Candidates called for the Viva Voce Test will be required to produce original certificates, mark-sheets etc. for verification.

    Examination Centers: Written examination will be held at various centers in 5 cities -- Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Sambalpur.

    Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their clearing the prescribed medical test to be conducted by the Medical Board.

    Certificate of Admission: Certificate of admission to examination / interview will be uploaded in the Commission’s Website prior to the date of examination / interview. Candidates should download and print the admission certificate and produce it for admission to the examination / interview. No one will be admitted to the examination / interview unless he / she hold a certificate of admission.
     
    Examination Fees: Non-refundable examination fees of Rs. 300 have to be deposited at any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) using a fee-payment Challan (Pay-in-Slip) available for download on the OPSC website www.opsconline.gov.in. The last date to deposit fee in an y SBI branch is 7 October 2013

    SC/ST candidates of Odisha and PwD candidates are exempted from payment of Examination fee.

    How to Apply: Interested eligible candidates should apply online through OPSC website www.opsconline.gov.in till 3 October 2013 (2359 hours).

    On successful submission of the Online Application Form, a Unique Registration ID will be displayed on the screen as well as on the top of the application form. Candidates should take atleast two printouts of the finally submitted application form, with a Unique Registration ID mentioned on it and retain one copy with them for future reference.

    Candidates should send the other printout of the finally submitted application form duly signed, along with copies of requisite certificates / documents and OPSC copy of the fee payment challan showing payment of Application Fee, by Registered Post / Speed Post / Courier Service to ‘The Special Secretary, Odisha Public Service Commission, 19, Dr. P. K. Parija Road, Cuttack -753001, Odisha’ so as to reach the said office on or before 17 October 2013.

    On the envelope containing the printout of the Online Application candidates must super-scribe “Application for the post of Public Prosecutor”.

    Candidates can also submit the printout of the Online Application in the office of the Odisha Public Service Commission directly / personally on or before the last date of receipt of application.

    NOTE: Women candidates belonging to SC / ST / SEBC categories are required to submit Caste Certificates by birth (“Daughter of …..…...….”). Caste Certificate by virtue of marriage (“wife of .……….”) will not be accepted.

    Facilitation Counter: For any technical guidance while filling up the online application, candidates should contact OCAC facilitation counter over Toll free No. 18003456770 or 155335 between 1030 hours and 1330 hours and between 1400 hours and 1700 hours on all working days.

    In case of any difficulty in payment of fee, candidates may contact SBI over Telephone No. 0671-2368267 and 9437039604.

    For any other guidance / information, candidates may contact the OPSC Facilitation Counter over Telephone No. 0671-2304141 / 2305611 & Extn. - 207 on all working days between 1030 hours and 1330 hours and between 1400 hours and 1700 hours.
