Rajasthan is one of the richest states in respect of mineral found in India. The Rajasthan is the only producer of Garnet (Gem), Jasper, Selenite transparent colorless Gypsum). Rajasthan is one of the major producers of the Zinc, Lead, Silver, Cadmium, Marble and some precious stones. Other leading minerals are Tungsten, salt rock, gypsum and its other ores of different types, calcite, felspar, asbestos, phosphate etc. Rajasthan is facing problem in rapid industrialisation due to the paucity of Coal and Iron-ore. The mineral industry is one of the biggest employment providers in the State.

Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals limited (RSMML) is one of the leading and progressive undertaking of the Government of Rajasthan which is engaged in production and marketing of non metallic minerals of India. RSMML is one of the leaders in Mining & Selling of Rock Phosphate, Gypsum across the country, but also global pioneer in technology in open cast mining and mineral beneficiation of Carbonate Rock Phosphate.
