LIC AAO Mains syllabus is comparatively tougher than Prelims. The LIC AAO syllabus for Mains consists of five subjects that include Reasoning Ability, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Data Analysis & Interpretation, Insurance and Financial Market Awareness and English Language (Letter writing & Essay). LIC AAO syllabus for the English Language consists of a descriptive test. The paper will be an Essay and Letter Writing. For essay writing, candidates must read newspaper editorials, burning issues on current affairs and practice writing to excel in it. The letter writing in LIC AAO Mains exam will be both formal and informal. Candidates will have the option to select any one out of both.

As per the official notification, the LIC AAO exam pattern consists of three rounds, preliminary, mains and interview round. LIC AAO Interview 

LIC AAO interview round is going to be held for 60 marks. In this round, the concerned authorities will judge the communication skills, and analytical and theoretical knowledge of the candidates. The minimum qualifying marks for the interview round are 30 for unreserved and 27 marks for the SC/ST/PWdB category students. Candidates around three times the total vacancies shall be called for the interview round. The final merit list shall be devised by considering the marks of the LIC AAO mains and interview round.
