12th Class Exam 2021 Cancelled: In a recent announcement made, the CBSE has announced that the class 12 examinations have been cancelled due to the pandemic situation. Following the CBSE many of the state boards have also cancelled the pending class 12 examinations while some of the boards are yet to make a decision on the cancellation of the class 12 examinations. The decision to cancel the CBSE class 12 exams were taken in a meeting chaired by the PM. According to the announcement made the CBSE class 12 students will be evaluated in an objective manner. List of states and other boards that have cancelled class 12th board exams 2021
- West Bengal - The West Bengal HS Exam 2021 for Class 12 students have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision to cancel the WB Madhyamik and HS Exams 2021 was announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today. She also announced that the state government-appointed expert committee will decide on the evaluation criteria.

Odisha - The Odisha government has cancelled class 12 board exams 2021 due to the COVID-19 situation. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced the decision on the cancellation of the class 12th.

Karnataka - The Karnataka government has cancelled the 2nd PUC exams (Class 12 board exams 2021). Speaking on the examination, Suresh Kumar said that the decision to scrap 2nd PUC was taken after feedback from all stakeholders as some wanted the exam while others did not. SSLC, however, would be conducted.

Maharashtra - Maharashtra government decided to cancel the class 12 board examination because of the coronavirus crisis in the state. The state government’s decision to cancel final examinations comes two days after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled their 12th board exams.
- Uttar Pradesh - The Class 12 UP board exams 2021 have been cancelled. The decision to cancel the UP Class 12 board exams follows the CBSE and CISCE's decisions to cancel their Class 12 board exams because of the Covid-19 situation.
- Goa - The State Government cancelled the GSBSHSE class 12 board exam 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Goa CM Pramod Sawant said that the safety and well-being of the students are more important. He further added that the Goa class 12 result will be released based on objective criteria. The detailed procedure will be available on the official website soon.
- Rajasthan - Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan (BSER) has cancelled the class 12 board exams. Rajasthan’s decision to cancel board exams came a day after CBSE announced to scrap class 12 final exams amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The evaluation criteria will be announced soon.
- Uttarakhand - Uttarakhand Education Minister Arvind Pandey announced that the state board exams for class 12 have been cancelled. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure because of the covid-19 pandemic.
- Madhya Pradesh - Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the Madhya Pradesh board class 12 exam cancellation. He further informed that the evaluation criteria will be announced soon. The state government after considering the situation has decided to cancel the class 12 examination.
- Gujarat - Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has cancelled board examinations for class 12. The GSEB board exams were slated to be held from 1st to 16th July. The evaluation criteria will be released soon.
- Haryana - The Haryana government has decided to cancel the Class 12 exams conducted by the state board. The decision came shortly after the central government announced cancelling the CBSE Class 12 board exams amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, the state board will take steps to compile the results of class 12 students and modalities for this will be announced soon.
- CBSE Board - The Union Government cancelled the CBSE class 12 board exams 2021. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by PM Modi. It was decided that the CBSE will take steps to compile the results of class 12 students according to a well-defined objective criterion in a time-bound manner.
- CISCE Board - Following the cancellation of the CBSE Board examination on Tuesday, the Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) too scrapped its ISC examination for this year. As per media reports, Gerry Arathoon, chief executive, CISCE said that the class 12 students will now be evaluated through an alternative scheme. “The details of that will be worked out soon and will be available to you.”
List of states boards that have postponed or yet to take a decision regarding class 12th board exams 2021
- Tamil Nadu - Tamil Nadu Government is expected to release its final decision about the conduction of TN class 12 board exams 2021 in 2 days. After the Centre decided to cancel the CBSE class 12 exams, the state government has decided to consult the teachers and parents before taking the final decision.
- Himachal Pradesh - As per the last update, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBoSE) is planning to conduct the class 12 exams in the third week of June if the COVID-19 situation improves in the state. As per the data released, a total of 1,14,926 students of class 12 will appear in the exam, comprising 1,00,982 in regular mode and 13,944 through the state open school.
- Andhra Pradesh - The state government postponed the class 12th exam until further notice, amid a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases. Now, the board exams have been scheduled to be conducted in July 2021.
- Assam - As per the media reports the education minister of Assam, Ranoj Pegu said that the exams of the state board will be conducted. However, the date and format of the Assam Board exam are yet to be decided.
- Jharkhand - Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) board was waiting for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to decide on holding class 12 board exams. Now, based on the central education board’s decision, JAC will be taking a final decision soon. Earlier, on May 29, 2021, Hemant Soren, the Jharkhand Chief Minister, stated his unwillingness to conduct the board exams amid the COVID19 pandemic. However, the final decision is yet to be released.
- Kerala - The Kerala Board 12th theory examinations and vocational higher secondary examinations concluded on 26th April 2021. The class 12 practical exams were scheduled to begin from 28th April which have now been postponed by the board due to the rise in the pandemic situation caused by COVID19. The revised dates of the Kerala Board HS practical examinations will be announced by the board officials soon.
- Punjab - The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) will likely conduct the PSEB class 12 board examinations in June 2021. As per the reports, the board is considering holding the PSEB class 12 examinations only for main subjects. However, the PSEB class 12 board examinations 2021 will be conducted only after the conditions have been stabilized in the state.
- Chhattisgarh - The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) has started class 12 board exams from 1st June. Students have to appear for the board examinations from their homes. They had been given question papers and answer sheets and they will be required to submit the answer sheets within five days.
