Schools in Manipur have reopened for the students from classes 6 to 8 from March 8, 2021. The Manipur state government has approved the reopening of the schools for the students from class 6 to 8 with proper COVID-19 guidelines which must be followed by the school administration without fail. One of the officials from the State Education Department had announced that the schools in Manipur will be reopening from March 3, 2021.
Reopening approved earlier
The state government had earlier approved the reopening of the schools for the students from classes 9 to 12 from January 27, 2021. Officials have further stated that it will be the choice of the schools to come up with their own system of evaluation for the students from class 6 to 9 and due to the academic loss, the government is planning to promote the students to the next class without conducting examinations. However, clearing the assignment tests for the individual subjects will be mandatory.
Guidelines to be followed
Schools in Manipur will reopen from March 8, 2021, with the proper COVID-19 guidelines issued by the state and central government. A few of the guidelines include wearing the masks, maintaining social distancing, and sanitizing the premises regularly. The guidelines have been issued by the state and central government ensuring the safety of the students attending the classes.
In order to attend the offline classes, the students will need parents' consent letters. The schools in Manipur have remained closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.
