Mumbai University PET 2020: As per the latest update, the University of Mumbai is all set to hold the PhD Entrance Test for the varsity on 28th February 2021. Currently, the varsity has reopened the application process for MU PET 2020 exam and candidates are required to complete registration process by 28th January 2021. The PhD Entrance Test for Mumbai University is being held nearly an year of delay due to the pandemic. The application process for Mumbai University PET 2020 was invited in last March, but the test was delayed due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

Applications Open until 28th January

According to the details provided by the exam authority, during the application process which was held last year, a total of 6500 aspirants had registered to appear for Mumbai University PET 2020. However, due to the pandemic the exam was not conducted as per the schedule. Taking that into account the current situation, now the exam authority has reopened the application process for a week’s time. Candidates who are due to register for the exam are required to complete the application process by 28th January 2021. Those who applied last year need not re-apply and their applications from last year would be carried forward.

Applications Received So Far

As per the details shared by the Mumbai University, as of now, the varsity has received a total of 6,512 applications. Of the total number of applications, 461 applications were received from other states. In terms of stream-wise breakup, maximum number of applications i.e. 3340, were received for science and technology domain, followed by 1691 applications for Anthropology and 1148 applications for commerce and management. Reports have also confirmed that 380 applications were also received from MPhil candidates. With the application process extended until 28th January, these number are expected to increase further.
