School Reopening News: With several state governments relaxing COVID-19 restrictions, schools in Maharashtra, Punjab and Haryana are slated to reopen from today onwards i.e. 27th January 2021 onwards. Schools are slated to reopen in these three states after a gap of 10 months since lockdown was imposed in March 2020. School Reopening is being carried out in line with the COVID-19 precautionary guidelines and SOPs prescribed by the authorities in respective states. While Punjab had reopened schools for students of Classes 5 to 12 earlier this month, Manipur is reopening schools for only Classes 9 to 12. Earlier, states of Delhi, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Karnataka, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, Jharkhand, Mizoram and Kerala have already reopened the schools so far.
Thane Rural School Reopening Update
As per the announcement made by district authorities, Schools in Thane Rural district of Maharashtra are slated to reopen from today i.e. 27th January 2021. The announcement about school reopening in Thane Rural District for Class 5 to 12 students was made by Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde issued directions to reopen schools. As per the announcement, the school reopening decision will be applicable to all mediums, including ashram schools, which have remained shut for the last 10 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Manipur School Reopening Update
Along with Maharashtra, the Manipur state government has also announced that schools and colleges in the state will reopen from 27th January 2021. The decision to reopen schools and colleges in the state was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Biren Singh. Initially, the state government has permitted reopening of schools for Class 9 to 12 students. In addition to this, the state government has also permitted reopening of colleges from today onwards. School reopening in Manipur is being carried out in line with the precautionary guidelines prescribed by the health and education departments.
Punjab Primary School Reopening
As per the latest update, Primary Schools in Punjab are also likely to reopen from today onwards i.e. 27th January 2021. Punjab schools will reopen for Classes 3 and 4 from today onwards, as per the directions provided by the state government. Earlier in the month, the state government allowed reopening of schools for Class 5 to 12 students. Following the reopening, schools will operate from 10 AM to 3 PM. All students who want to attend regular or physical classes will be required to carry written consent from their parents. Students of Classes 1 and 2 will be attending the schools from February 1 onward, the government.
