CAT 2016 Alert: IIM Bangalore likely to conduct the test this year

It is expected that in 2016, IIM Bangalore (IIM-B) will conduct Common Admission Test (CAT) 2016.

The news has been confirmed by official sources of CAT organizing committee and this news will be officially announced by the month of June.

The same news has also been confirmed by Catchnews.com. A professor from IIM Bangalore commented on the probability of this event which is likely to be true for CAT 2016. Professor Bandyopadhyay had given an official statement mentioning that "Every year we review CAT and make certain changes- both operational and content.... This we hope will create a level-playing field for all candidates, no matter what educational background they come from, and will remove skewness to a large extent that we referred to above. We believe such a move will help us identify candidates from varied backgrounds who will become future leaders in their chosen profession. Such a move will also help IIMs bring in greater diversity in the classrooms and will go a long way in enriching the learning experience."

But the institute spokesperson has declined to comment on the news.

IIM Bangalore will conduct the test for the first time in their history. The previous year CAT examination was conducted by the college as given below:

Although, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is the test-taking agency for 2016 as they have signed a five-year deal with the IIMs to conduct the test.

The official notification of CAT will be released in the month of July or August 2016 followed by a computer-based examination in October/November 2016.
