RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2025
The RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2025 is designed to assess candidates' aptitude and physical fitness for railway positions. The selection process for RRB Group D exam includes four stages: Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and Medical Examination.
The first stage of the exam is the computer based test or CBT. The CBT consists of multiple-choice questions covering Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness and Current Affairs, with a total duration of 90 minutes. Each correct answer earns 1 mark, while 1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. Candidates qualifying the CBT proceed to the PET, where physical endurance is tested. RRB Group D Exam Pattern for CBT
The first stage of the RRB Group D exam 2025 is the computer based test or CBT. The CBT i divided into four sections: General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The total duration of the RRB Group D test is 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates accompanied by the scribe). RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2024 for PET
The candidates who will qualify the RRB CBT will be eligible to appear for PET. The PET is mandatory to be taken by both male and female candidates. The selection of candidates for this stage is done three times the number of vacancies. The PET is qualifying in nature for which all the candidates have to appear for. The selection is being done as per the following parameters.

RRB CBT Group D Document Verification & Empanelling of Candidates
In 2022, the RRB updated the document verification process.
Key points of the revised process:
- Candidates are shortlisted for document verification based on their CBT 1 performance and qualifying in the PET (Physical Efficiency Test).
- The number of candidates called is 1.1 times the total vacancies, based on merit and preferences.
Earlier process:
- Candidates were shortlisted in a ratio of 1.05 times the total vacancies (5% extra candidates beyond the notified vacancies).
Final appointment depends on:
- Passing the medical fitness test conducted by the railway administration.
- Verification of educational qualifications, community certificates, and character/antecedent certificates.
After document verification:
- Candidates undergo a medical examination, where visual acuity is an important criterion.
- Specific medical standards apply to different job categories.
Medical Standard for RRB Group D Exam 2025
RRB has set the following given criteria for recruiting candidates based on medical standard.

RRB Group D Marking Scheme
RRB has prescribed the given marking scheme for the CBT. The candidates will be given 1 marks for each correct answer while a negative marking of 1/3 is applicable for each incorrect answer marked by the candidate. The following table represents the RRB Group D negative marking pattern:
