When will the CBSE Board Exam 2021 Term 1 Date Sheet be Released?

With less than a month to go for November Term 1 Exams, the biggest question on the minds of the students who are to appear for CBSE 10th Term 1 Exam 2021 and CBSE 12th Term 1 Exam 2021 is regarding the date sheet for the exam. Students should note that as of now, the Board has not released CBSE Date Sheet for Class 10, 12 for Term 1 Board Exams 2022. However, media reports and experts close to the board have hinted that the CBSE Board Term 1 Exam Date Sheet 2022 will be released by 10th October 2021 by the Board. Until then, students are required to keep a close eye on the official website of the board i.e. or stay tuned to website to get the latest update.

Will CBSE 10th and 12th Term 1 Exam be held online or offline

The official notification released by the CBSE Board earlier in which the new exam format of Term 1 and Term 2 Exams was planned said that the Term 1 Exam would be held in November – December months at school-level. However, the document didn’t clarify the mode of the examination and kept it an open option to be decided later on as per the COVID-19 situation in the country. Looking at the current situation with reopening of schools for offline classes and the number of COVID-19, it is highly likely that the Term 1 exam would be held offline mode at school level. But final confirmation of this will be provided by the board soon.

Where will CBSE Term 1 Exam be held, at School or at Designated Exam Centres?

As per the official notification, the Term 1 Exams of CBSE board for both Class 10 and 12 will be held at the respective schools from where students are registered. The board will not align any designated exam centres for the CBSE Board Term 1 exams. However, the exam invigilators would be appointed from other schools to ensure fairness in the conduct of the exam.

Who will set or prepare question papers for CBSE Term Exam 1?

The question paper for term 1 exam will be prepared by the CBSE Board, who would be sending the same to then respective schools for holding the term 1 exams.

What will be the exam pattern for CBSE Term 1 Exam 2022?

The term 1 exam will be based on objective type questions i.e. Multiple Choice Questions or MCQ format. The number of questions for different subjects would be different; however, the time duration of the exam will be the same i.e. 2 Hours for each subject. Answers for all the questions will have to marked by the students on OMR sheets that will be sent by the board to the schools before the exam.

How will marks be divided between Term 1 and Term 2 Exams?

As per the exam notification published by the CBSE Board, the total marks for a paper would be divided into half for both term exams for theory portion of the paper. This means, if the total marks for theory paper of a subject is 70, the Term 1 Exam will be based on 35 marks and Term 2 exam will also have equal share i.e. 35 marks.

Will Term 1 and Term 2 Exam marks weigh the same in compilation of overall result?

While the total share of the marks for both exams i.e. term 1 and term 2 has been divided equally, the weight distribution for compilation of final result will depend on the mode and nature of the exam. For instance, if the Term 1 Exam is held offline while Term 2 exam is held online, the term 1 exam marks would carry more weight. On the contrary, if the term 1 exam is held online and term 2 exam is held offline, the later would carry more weight. In case, both exams are held in offline mode, but term 2 is held with subjective questions, the weight distribution would be equal.
