Medical education has been a popular course in the country and many candidates opt for the course. It is necessary for the candidates that they remain upgraded when it comes to education and they must know the trends in the field. In order to keep the students and faculty members updated with the latest development in the field, the MCI has introduced a new online course.
The new course that has been introduced by the Medical Council of India is available in the online mode. The course is related to research methods and it has been named as ‘Basic Course in Bio-medical Research’. The MCI has made it mandatory for all the PG students and for the faculties without prior formal training in research. The MCI wants that the PG students and the faculties be kept updated and they are to complete this online course. The timeline to complete the course is by the end of their second semester.
It is important to note that the online course is of 8 week and it is available in the online mode. The course introduced by MCI will have 23 topics. Each of the topics will have online assignments which will have 10 MCQs. Also, the course is free of cost and the students and faculties will not have to pay any fee. However, they will have to pay the exam fee of Rs. 1000. As per the officials, the exam will be conducted two times a year. The students and the faculties who gets through the exam will be certified. The candidates will have to score a minimum of 50 per cent marks in the assignments so that they become eligible to appear for the exam.
