The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the JEE Main 2025 counselling schedule for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and other government-funded technical institutions. The counselling process will begin from 3rd June 2025 and will be held in five rounds. Those who have qualified JEE Main 2025 or JEE Advanced 2025 or are expected to qualify are eligible to participate in the counselling round. JEE Main Counselling 2025
JEE Main counselling 2025 date has been released and shall start from 3rd June 2025. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) organises the JEE Main counselling for admission of candidates based on the JEE Main marks. Candidates who are successful in JEE Main exam 2025 either in session 1 or 2 will be eligible to appear for the counseling for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other GFTI’s as well as other participating colleges.
In order to take part in the JEE Main counselling session one has to register on the official website and fill out their preferred institute and engineering branch. Candidates can take part in the counselling process for admissions to all 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and GFTIs through JoSAA counselling.
JEE Main Counselling 2025 Major Highlights
We have mentioned the major highlights of JEE Main counselling 2025 below for your convenience.
- JoSAA organises the counselling process for admission of JEE Main and JEE Advanced qualified candidates in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.
- The counselling for vacant seats after JoSAA counselling will be organised by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)
- The supernumerary seats in North East colleges and that of Union Territories are allocated by special counselling CSAB NEUT
- CSAB will also conduct a separate counselling procedure CSAB SFTI for 18 Self Financing Technical Institutes (SFTIs).
JoSAA JEE Main Counselling 2025: Eligibility Criteria for NIT’s, IIITs, GFTIs
Candidates can take part in the JEE Main counselling 2025 for admission to BTech/BArch/planning courses in the NITs, IIITs and GFTIs based on All India Rank (AIR). For this, candidates need to score at least 75% marks in class 12th exam, however, for SC/ST candidates, the minimum requirement is 65% in class 12. The JEE Main eligibility criteria for admission to NIT’s, IIITs and GFTIs are as follows:
JEE Main Eligibility Criteria for BArch and B.Planning Admission
- B. Architecture students have to pass the qualifying examination with at leat 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and 50% in aggregate.
- B. Planning candidates should pass class XII or a qualifying exam with 50% in Mathematics and 50% in the aggregate of the qualifying exam.
JEE Main Eligibility Criteria for other institutions
- The above criteria also apply to other Technical Institutions participating in counselling through JoSAA/CSAB.
- In case a State opts to admit students to the engineering Colleges affiliated with State Universities, the State may prepare a separate rank list based on criteria decided by them.
