As far as the result of 2013 is concerned, 98.78 per cent of girls and 97.73 per cent of boys passed the ICSE examination, whereas 96.66 per cent of girls and 93.91 per cent of boys the Indian school certificate examinations. The girls again in the similar year outshined the boys.  Approximately 1, 40,878 students appeared for the examination. If an adequate region wise analysis is being conducted then according to the sources southern region came out with the best percentage in the entire country for both class 10th and 12th.
ICSE/ISC Class 10th plays an extremely significant role in the life of a student. It goes without saying that there are no short cuts to success. Success only comes to those who work hard and stay focused. Apart from these two keys, persistence is important. Immediately after class 10th examinations, students are offered with various choices and options. These choices and options are provided in the form of different streams such as science, commerce or arts. All these streams result in great future prospects. For instance, students picking commerce stream can go for chartered accountant courses or degree courses in B.com (P) or B.com (H) etc. Apart from these there are courses such bachelors of business administration, and students opting for such courses can choose MBA as their respective subject in post-graduation. When it comes to science stream, students can choose engineering as their specific course or Bachelors of computer applications, or degree courses in physics, chemistry or mathematics. All these subjects prove to be extremely beneficial for the students. Adding on, arts offer specialization in subjects such as English, geography, political science, history, or diploma courses in fashion designing. These courses prove to extremely constructive and valuable for the students as they not a build a career out of the courses but also enhancement of confidence and development takes place.
