1. Prepare a section-wise strategy to attempt the Mains exam

As per the IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern, MCQs will be asked from three sections – Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language and Data Analysis & Interpretation. There is sectional timing for each of these sections. In order to attempt the questions with high accuracy and within the given time frame, candidates should prepare a proper section-wise strategy. 2. Revise through Previous Years Papers & Mock Tests

These last few days are not meant for deep studies. Candidates should devote this time for revision. Brush-up your preparations by going through the previous years’ questions papers, practice papers and mock tests. If you have already attempted or practised the papers, then analyse them to know your weak and strong areas. This will also give you a good idea about the type of questions asked in the mains exam.

3. Avoid guesswork & focus on accuracy

In IBPS PO Mains Exam, there will be a penalty for the wrong answer given by the candidates. Each wrong answer will invite a negative marking of 0.25 marks. Above that, candidates need to fetch the cut off marks to qualify for the next round – Interview. In such a scenario, the candidates’ focus should be on delivering accurate answers. Candidates should avoid guesswork and try to attempt questions with accuracy. If you are not sure about the correct option in a particular question, then adopt the eliminating approach. Take the calculated risk and eliminate the options that do not go with the question. This might work well for you to avoid getting stuck in a particular question.

Candidates’ main focus should be to manage the time properly while attempting the exam. To attempt as many questions with high accuracy, it is advisable that candidates should avoid spending much time in any particular question. Candidates should not devote more than 1 minute to a question.

5. Carry essential documents – Admit Card & ID Proof

Do not forget to carry essential documents such as IBPS PO Admit Card, Photo ID Proof and photograph to the examination centre. Candidates who forget to carry these documents to the exam centre will not be allowed to enter the centre. Try to reach the exam centre 15-20 minutes before the reporting time.
