CUET General Test Syllabus 2023 has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2023 through a computer-based test (CBT). Candidates who ace the exam shall be selected for admission in the Undergraduate Programmes (UG) from the list of 44 Central Universities and other participating universities for the academic session 2023-24 under the Ministry of Education (MoE).
Following the official CUET General Test Syllabus is crucial to score high marks in the CBT. There are four sections in the exam which include objective-type with multiple choice questions (MCQs). The sections are the language test, domain subject test, and general test. In the domain-specific section, candidates shall be given to choose from 27 subjects. As per the data in terms of the number of applicants, the CUET exam is the second-largest entrance exam in India. This year, a total of 16.85 lakh applicants registered for the CUET-UG 2023. Of these, a total of 13.99 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam. The NTA officials also shared that in comparison to last year's statistics, there has been an increase of 4 lakh candidates (41%) this year. Of these 13.99 lakh candidates, there are 7.51 lakh girls and 7.48 lakh boys candidates. The number of participating universities this year is 242 compared to 90 (in 2022).

CUET General Test Syllabus: Marking Scheme
The CUET exam shall be conducted through the computer-based test (CBT) mode. The medium of the exam will be available in 13 languages – Gujarati, Odiya, Bengali, Assamese, English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
In CUET-UG 2023, there shall be four sections namely:
- Section IA – Languages: Candidates can choose any of the languages from the list of 13 different languages. (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odiya, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu)
- Section IB – Languages: There are 20 Languages. Any of these languages may be chosen. (French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Sanskrit.)
- Section II – Domain: There are 27 Domains specific subjects being offered under this section. A candidate may choose any subject as desired by the applicable University/ Universities.
- Section III – General Test: For any such undergraduate program/programs being offered by Universities where a General Test is being used for admission.
Note: 1. From the above subjects/languages, the candidate can choose a maximum of 10 subjects from all three Sections. 2. Examination will be conducted on multiple days in three shifts, depending on the number of Candidates and Subject choices.

As per the CUET marking scheme, there will be one question paper for CUET Agriculture wherein test takers must attempt 40 questions out of 50. Below, candidates can find the detailed marking scheme for the CUET exam:
- 5 marks shall be awarded for each correct answer,
- (+5) marks will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options in case of more than one option is selected.
- If all options are found to be correct then (+5) marks will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
- If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given (+5) marks.
- (-1) will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- (0) mark will be given for questions unanswered/marked for review.
