In the UPSC Final Result 2024, 147 candidates have been selected for the IPS position, in which 60 candidates are from General category and 41 candidates belong to OBC. Check the table below for category-wise candidates recommended for the IPS position.

Along with the UPSC Civil Services Result 2024, UPSC has also released the number of candidates it has recommended from each category. In UPSC Final Result 2024 maximum 335 candidates are selected from General ctaegory which is further followed by 318 candidates from OBC category. UPSC has released the result of the UPSC 2024 examination on April 22, 2025. This year Shakti Dubey the examination. 

In the result of released by UPSC for 2023 cycle, Aditya Srivastava topped the examination with 1099 marks which is followed by Animesh Pradhan who scored 1067 marks

The candidates in final result are shortlisted based on their performance in mains exam and interview. UPSC conducts prelims, mains and interviews to shortlist candidates for IAS, IPS posts. Here, marks scored in prelims exam are not counted to prepare final merit list 

The UPSC result 2025 is expected to be released on the official website, upsc.gov.in as the interviews were conducted between January 7, 2025 and April 17, 2025.
