CLAT 2024 Counselling

The Consortium of National Law Universities has started the CLAT 2024 counselling registration on its website. The CLAT counselling has started from 11th December and will continue till 20th December 2023. The candidates whose names appear in the CLAT 2024 result are eligible to apply for CLAT counselling registration process. 

CLAT counselling is done via online centralised system. The fee for CLAT counselling registration fee for the general category is Rs 30,000 while those from the reserved categories need to pay a fee of Rs 20,000. The CLAT admission process is done separately for UG and PG programmes. An allotment list is published for each of the participating NLUs in the admission process. Steps  to Register for CLAT Counselling 2024

The CLAT counselling has started from 11th December and will end on 20th December 2023. The law exam aspirants who have obtained a valid score in the CLAT exam are eligible to appear for the CLAT counselling by registering themselves on the Consortium’s website. The steps to register for CLAT counselling is given below here. 

  • Login to the registered CLAT account  which is consortiumofnlus.ac.in 
  • Update your preference of the NLU for minimum of 5 NLUs out of the 24 NLUs that shall be given in the list. 
  • Pay the CLAT counselling fee

How to Check CLAT 2024 Counselling and Seat Allotment Result?

The candidates whose names appear in the CLAT result 2024 are eligible to register for CLAT counselling. There are a total of 3,213 seats for UG courses and 1,217 seats for PG courses. Candidates who have appeared for the CLAT 2024 exam must follow the steps mentioned below to check the CLAT seat allotment result:

Step 1: Visit the official website of CLAT which is consortiumofnlus.ac.in 

Step 2: Enter your registered mobile number and password.

Step 3: Click on Login button.

Step 4: Check the seat allotment result.

CLAT 2024 Counselling Process

Candidates who apply for the CLAT counselling process will have to undergo the following given steps. 

Step 1, Declaration of CLAT Result: Those who obtain valid marks in the CLAT exam are eligible to participate in the counselling process. 

Step 2, Registration for CLAT Counselling: Candidates have to register for the CLAT counselling process by filling up the required details. 

Step 3, Payment of Counselling Fee: Those who will be appearing for the counselling process will have to pay the counselling fee to participate in the counselling round. General category candidates need to pay Rs. 30,000 and SC/ST candidates need to pay Rs. 20,000.

Step 4, Seat Allotement: On the basis of the rank obtained by the candidates in the CLAT exam, the candidates’ will be allotted the seat. Multiple rounds will be held for allotting seat to the candidates.  

Step 5, Admission Fee Payment: Candidates whose documents will be verified will have to pay the admission fee to confirm their admission. 

Step 6, Reporting to the college: Finally, after the seat allotment process, the candidates will be required to report to the college allotted to his/her to complete other admission formalities. 

Documents Required for CLAT Counselling 2024

Candidates will be required to produce the following given documents for the CLAT counselling rounds. 

For CLAT UG candidates:

  • Class 10 Marksheet (as a Date of Birth proof document)
  • Class 12 Marksheet (qualifying examination proof)
  • CLAT 2024 Admit Card
  • Character Certificate/Conduct Certificate
  • Transfer/Migration Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (If applicable)
  • Specially-Abled Certificate (If applicable)
  • Domicile Certificate (If applicable)
  • Any other supporting document to claim your seat if applied under a category such as Wards of Serving/Retired Defence Personnel, EWS, Sons/daughters of Ex-servicemen/Defence service personnel etc.

For CLAT PG candidates:

What are Freeze, Float and Exit options in CLAT Counselling?

CLAT counselling registration has three options given in it: freeze, float, and exit. These options are explained as follows:

  • Freeze: If a candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted and does not wish to participate in further rounds of counselling, they may choose the freeze option. Such candidates will not be considered for further rounds of counselling.
  • Float Option: If a candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotted to them and wishes to participate in further rounds of counselling, they may choose the float option. If a candidate chooses the float option and is allotted a seat in a subsequent round, the seat allotted in the previous round will be forfeited.
  • Exit Option: If at any point during the counselling process, a candidate decides not to participate any further, they may choose the exit option. 

CLAT Invite List 2024

The CLAT invite list 2024 is the list that is released by the Consortium. It has the list of the candidates who have been shortlisted to appear for the counselling process. An SMS and an email will also be sent to the candidate’s who will be appearing for the counselling. 

CLAT 2024 Counselling Fee Refund

Candidates who have applied for CLAT counselling 2024 and do not get any seat allotted will get 100% fee refund. Here are the important details related to the CLAT counselling fee refund:

  • Full Refund: CLAT exam aspirants who do not get a seat in any of the CLAT counselling rounds or a candidate who withdraws the seat before the last date will get a refund of the full amount.
  •  Partial Refund: There are two conditions for a partial refund that are as mentioned below:
  • Condition 1: If the candidate is allotted a seat in any of the three allotment rounds, but wishes to forfeit the seat and exit the CLAT admission process, then an amount of Rs. 40,000 only will be refunded.
  • Condition 2: If a candidate is found ineligible based on the documents or information submitted by the candidate, then Rs. 40,000 will be refunded.
