KMAT 2021 Overview: KMAT Karnataka is a state-level management entrance examination which is used as a screening test to shortlist students to be admitted to Postgraduate level management programmes. The Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is conducted by the Karnataka Post Graduate Private Colleges' Association (KPPGCA) and is used as a selection test for over 170 Management Colleges and 55 MCA Colleges based in the state.
For 2021 session, Karnataka KMAT 2021 is expected to be held in the month of October 2021. The registration process for KMAT 2021 began on 6th July 2021 and is expected to end soon. All applicants or aspirants are advised to complete the registration process for the same at the earliest. The detailed test schedule for KMAT 2021 has not been announced by the exam authority. This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, KMAT 2021 will be conducted in an online proctored mode across the country.
KMAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria
KMAT Karnataka Exam has very simple eligibility criteria as far as appearing for the test is concerned. Earlier, until 2018, the exam authority had imposed a domicile clause on the basis of which only candidates with domicile based in the state were allowed to appear for the exam; but it has been removed now. Now, any candidate who holds a valid graduate degree i.e. has completed graduation in any discipline is eligible to apply for the entrance exam. In terms of qualifying marks, a candidate needs to secure minimum 50% marks in their graduation degree examination to be able to register and apply for the test. For MCA aspirants, the eligibility criteria mention that candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in any stream with 50% marks. Apart from this, for MCA admissions, candidate also needs to have studied Mathematics subject at their Class 12 level examinations.
KMAT 2021 Registration process
KMAT 2021 registrations for the upcoming MBA exam began on 6th July 2021 and are currently on-going. The registration process is expected to end in September 2021; however, no specific date for the same has been specified by the exam authority. Like any other MBA entrance exam, the registration process for KMAT 2021 involves multiple steps which are explained below:
- Step 1: Registration on the portal providing basic details
- Step 2: Log onto the application portal using your newly created credentials
- Step 3: Filling the application form by providing personal and academic details
- Step 4: Uploading supporting documents including passport size photograph and signature
- Step 5: Pay the application fee as required

KMAT 2021 Exam pattern
To help familiarize candidates with the exam pattern that would be followed for KMAT Karnataka 2021 exam, the authority has released a detailed exam pattern document as part of the information brochure. For 2021 session, the Karnataka KMAT 2021 exam is going to be held online in remote proctored mode and therefore the exam pattern has also been tweaked keeping that in mind.
In terms of exam pattern, the test will consist of questions from three key sections i.e. Verbal & Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. In total 120 questions; 40 questions from each section, will be asked in the exam which will have to answer in the duration of 120 minutes. The questions will be MCQ – Multiple Choice Questions with 4 Answer Choices. The total number of marks is also 120. In terms of marking scheme, the exam doesn’t follow any negative marking policy.
