The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the NEET syllabus 2025 on its official website nmc.org.in. The candidates who will be taking the NEET UG exam 2025 can go through the latest NEET syllabus from here. As per a notice released by Shambhu Sharan Singh, Director, UGMEB read, “It is notified to all the stakeholders, especially to the aspiring candidates that the Under Graduate Medical Education Board, an autonomous body under National Medical Commission has finalized the NEET (UG) - 2025 Syllabus.

NEET UG Syllabus 2025: Key Highlights

Here are the key highlights of the NEET UG syllabus 2025: 

  • As per the NEET 2025 syllabus PDF, the questions from questions in Physics will be asked from 20 Units including Physics and Measurement, Work, Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Gravitation and others.
  • Further, questions from Chemistry will also be asked from 20 units including Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Chemical Thermodynamics, Chemical Kinetics, Solutions, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions Electrochemistry among others.
  • For Biology, a total of 10 topics including Human Physiology, Reproduction, Genetics and Evolution, Biology and Human Welfare, Ecology, Environment, Biotechnology and its Application will be asked.

NEET Syllabus 2024 for Physics 

NEET Physics syllabus is considered to be tougher than other subjects. The candidates need to have conceptual clarity regarding the subjects asked in the exam so that they can solve the numerical problems. The syllabus is based on classes 10th and 12th. The topic-wise syllabus for the NEET exam is as follows. The syllabus has been given based on classes 11th and 12th.

Given below are the topics that are covered in the NEET syllabus for Physics in class 11.

Unit I: Physics and Measurement

Units of measurements, systems of units (SI units, fundamental and derived units), least count, significant figures, errors in measurement, dimensions of physical quantities, dimensional analysis, and applications.

Unit II: Kinematics

Frame of reference, motion in a straight line, position-time graph, speed and velocity (uniform and non-uniform motion, average speed, instantaneous velocity), uniformly accelerated motion, velocity-time graph, position-time graph. Scalars and vectors: addition, subtraction, and resolution. Motion in a plane: relative velocity, projectile motion, uniform circular motion.

Unit III: Laws of Motion

Force and inertia, Newton’s laws of motion, momentum, impulse, law of conservation of linear momentum, equilibrium of concurrent forces, static and kinetic friction, rolling friction, dynamics of uniform circular motion (centripetal force and applications such as vehicles on level and banked roads).

Unit IV: Work, Energy, and Power

Work (constant and variable force), kinetic and potential energy, work-energy theorem, power, spring potential energy, conservation of mechanical energy, conservative and non-conservative forces, motion in a vertical circle, elastic and inelastic collisions (1D and 2D).

Unit V: Rotational Motion

Center of mass, basic concepts of rotational motion, torque, angular momentum, conservation of angular momentum, moment of inertia (including values for simple geometrical shapes), radius of gyration, parallel and perpendicular axes theorems, rigid body rotation, and comparisons with linear motion.

Unit VI: Gravitation

Universal law of gravitation, acceleration due to gravity (variation with altitude and depth), Kepler’s laws of planetary motion, gravitational potential energy, escape velocity, motion and energy of satellites, orbital velocity, and time period of satellites.

Unit VII: Properties of Solids and Liquids

Elastic behavior, stress-strain relationship, Hooke’s Law, Young’s modulus, bulk modulus, modulus of rigidity, pressure in fluids, Pascal’s law, viscosity, Stokes’ law, Bernoulli’s principle, surface tension, heat transfer methods (conduction, convection, radiation), and thermal expansion.

Unit VIII: Thermodynamics

Thermal equilibrium, zeroth law, heat, work, internal energy, first and second laws of thermodynamics (reversible and irreversible processes), isothermal and adiabatic processes.

Unit IX: Kinetic Theory of Gases

Equation of state, work during gas compression, assumptions of kinetic theory, pressure concept, kinetic interpretation of temperature, RMS speed, degrees of freedom, law of equipartition of energy, specific heat capacities, mean free path, and Avogadro’s number.

Unit X: Oscillations and Waves

Oscillations (time period, frequency, SHM, energy in SHM), wave motion (longitudinal and transverse waves, progressive wave equations, principle of superposition, standing waves, resonance, beats), simple pendulum (time period), and wave characteristics in strings and organ pipes.

Given below are the topics that are covered in NEET syllabus for Physics in class 12th.

Drift velocity, Ohm’s law, resistivity and conductivity, series and parallel combinations of resistors, Kirchhoff’s laws, Wheatstone bridge, and meter bridge.

Displacement current, electromagnetic spectrum (radio waves to gamma rays), characteristics of EM waves, and applications.

Unit XVI: Optics

Reflection and refraction, lens and mirror formulas, total internal reflection, magnification, microscopes, telescopes, wavefronts, interference (Young’s experiment), diffraction, and polarization.

Unit XVII: Dual Nature of Matter

Photoelectric effect, Einstein’s photoelectric equation, wave-particle duality, and de Broglie relation.

Unit XVIII: Atoms and Nuclei

Atomic models (Rutherford, Bohr), energy levels, nuclear structure, mass-energy relation, binding energy, nuclear fission and fusion.

Unit XIX: Electronic Devices

Semiconductors, diodes (forward/reverse bias, rectification), transistors, solar cells, LEDs, Zener diodes (as voltage regulators), and logic gates.

Unit XX: Experimental Skills

Practical applications such as measurements (vernier calipers, screw gauge), properties of materials (Young’s modulus, viscosity, etc.), sound (resonance tube), heat (specific heat capacity), electrical properties (resistance, diode characteristics), and optical measurements (focal length, prisms).
