RRB NTPC Selection Process 2024
RRB NTPC selection process 2024 is composed of four major stages. Candidates who are planning to apply for the RRB NTPC exam 2024 and get appointed to the post should qualify each stage of the test to be able to be appointed into the services. The stages that are involved in the RRB NTPC are as follows:
- Computer-Based Test1 or CBT 1
- Computer-Based Test 2 or CBT 2
- Typing skill test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) (conducted as per posts)
- Document verification/medical examination
The selection process for each post in RRB NTPC exam 2024 varies. Hence, candidates are required to go through the stage wise selection criteria as specified by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) in the official notification. RRB NTPC Selection Process for CBT 1
The Computer-Based Test 1 or CBT 1 is the first stage of the RRB NTPC selection process. RRB NTPC CBT 1 selection process is common for all the candidates who apply for the exam. This stage is used to filter out candidates and shortlist eligible candidates for CBT 2. The RRB NTPC CBT 1 consists of three sections that are General Awareness, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning. The exam duration for this stage is that of 1 Hour 30 Minutes and has a total of 100 questions.

RRB NTPC CBT 2 Selection Process
The candidates who secure the RRB NTPC cut off marks in CBT 1 are eligible to appear for the RRB NTPC CBT 2. The CBT 2 exam also consists of three sections that are General Awareness, Maths, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The CBT 2 is held for a duration of 1 Hour 30 Minutes. What is RRB NTPC CBAT?
The RRB NTPC CBAT is taken by those who are shortlisted to appear for the post of Traffic Assistant and Station Master. The CBAT paper has no negative marking. All the questions in CBAT will have question-and-answer options in English and Hindi.
Based on the marks scored by the candidates RRB NTPC CBT 2 and CBAT, a merit list will be released. 70% weightage is given to RRB NTPC CBT 2 exam and 30% weightage is given to CBAT exam.
RRB NTPC Typing Test
The RRB NTPC Typing Test is qualifying in nature. The requirements for typing test are as follows:

RRB NTPC Document Verification
The candidates who qualify the RRB NTPC CBT 1, CBT 2, Typing Test/CBAT will be eligible to appear for the document verification process. Candidates will be required to carry all the original and a photocopy of the same for the document verification process.
The candidates shortlisted for DV have to submit all the original documents along with self-attested two sets of xerox copies in A4 size as detailed in the CEN and an e-admit card uploaded for Document Verification. RRB NTPC Medical Examination
A medical examination will also be conducted for the candidates who appear for the document verification. The medical exam will be done to check if the candidate is of sound mind and physically fit to do the job. The medical standards is defined for different posts. According to RRB NTPC medical standards, candidates recommended for appointment will have to pass requisite medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Recruitment Boards.
