UPSC CAPF Syllabus 2024 for Paper 1, 2 and Exam Pattern
UPSC CAPF syllabus 2024 is provided here for the Assistant Commandant post. There are two papers in CAPF syllabus, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is General and Mental Ability which is objective in nature while the second paper is General Studies, Essay and Comprehension which is subjective. CAPF Syllabus 2024
The CAPF syllabus 2024 for the Assistant Commandant (AC) post is released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The CAPF exam is scheduled for 6 August 2024 in offline mode. Candidates who will be taking the exam must revise the syllabus so that they can know what important topics are to be covered. The CAPF syllabus consists of a written test, PET/PST and Personality Test.
The CAPF syllabus for written test consists of two papers. The first paper is General and Mental Ability while the second paper is General Studies, Essay and Comprehension. Paper 1 is objective in nature while paper 2 is descriptive in nature. The total marks of the UPSC CAPF written test is 450 marks. UPSC CAPF AC Syllabus 2024 Overview
Before we proceed to discuss the CAPF syllabus in detail, let us give you an overview of it. The UPSC CAPF syllabus consists of three stages, written test, PET/PST and personality test or interview. The final selection of the candidates shall be done on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in written test and interview.

UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern 2024
The CAPF exam pattern consists of a written test. The candidates who qualify the written exam are called to appear for the PET/PST followed by an interview/personality test. The exam pattern for the written test is given below here.
- The CAPF written test consists of two papers that are bilingual in nature, i.e. English and Hindi, excluding English paper.
- Paper 1 is General and Mental Ability which is objective in nautre.
- On the other hand, Paper 2 is General Studies, Essay and Comprehension which is descriptive in nature.
- A negative marking of 0.33 is applicable for every incorrect answer marked by you in the UPSC CAPF Paper 1.

CAPF Syllabus 2024 for Paper 1
UPSC CAPF syllabus for paper 1 consists of two papers. Paper 1 is General Ability & Intelligence, and Paper-II includes General Studies, Essay & Comprehension. The topic wise CAPF syllabus for Paper is shared in the following table.

CAPF Syllabus 2024 for Paper 2
The CAPF syllabus for paper 2 consists of General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension that are descriptive in nature. Candidates can write the essay in either English or Hindi language. The syllabus for UPSC CAPF paper 2 is shared below here.
Part A (80 Marks): Essay
The essay is for a total of 80 marks that can be answered in a long narrative form either in English or Hindi. The indicative topics for essay are as follows:

- Analytical Ability
Part B (120 Marks)
Part B of CAPF syllabus for Paper 2 is Comprehension, Précis writing, Communications/language skills, Developing counter arguments, Simple grammar and other aspects of language testing.

CAPF PET for Assistant Commandant
The CAPF PET shall be done for those candidates who qualify the written test. PET is compulsory for all the candidates who have qualified the written test. You mut note that the PET is qualifying in nature. Here is the CAPF PET.

CAPF Interview/Personality Test
The CAPF interview or personality test shall be conducted for those who are found suitable in the PET/PST and medical round. The CAPF interview is for a total of 150 marks. On the basis of the marks secured by candidates inthe CAPF interview and written test, a final merit list will be published based on which candidates will be called for appointment as CAPF AC.
