UPSC conducted the CAPF (AC) 2019 Paper-1 & 2 across different cities on 18th August 2019.  This year UPSC has announced total 323 vacancies in BSF (100), CRPF (108), CISF (28), ITBP (21) and SSB (66). Paper-1 having Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) was conducted in offline mode from 10 a.m. to 12.00 Noon. Part-A (80 Marks)

Essay questions which are to be answered in long narrative form either in Hindi or English. The indicative topics are modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle, Geography, polity and economy, knowledge of security and human rights issues, and analytical ability.

Part-B (120 Marks)

Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – to be attempted in English only. The topics are Comprehension passages, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammar and other aspects of language testing.

Highlights of UPSC CAPF (AC) Paper-1 & 2 2019 Exam:

  • The paper was conducted in Offline Mode across different cities.
  • It is compulsory to carry Admit Card with affixed Photograph on it and Original ID proof alongwith its photocopy as well. Candidates are required to bring one ball point pen also.
  • In Paper-1 each question was of 2 mark.
  • There was negative marking of 1/3rd mark for wrong answers in Paper-1.
  • The questions were in both English and Hindi Language.
  • There will be minimum qualifying marks separately in each Paper as may be fixed by the Commission in their discretion. Paper-I will be evaluated first and evaluation of Paper-II will be done only of those candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I.

Important Points to Remember after UPSC CAPF (AC) 2019 Paper-1 & 2

Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests: Candidates who are declared qualified in the written examination will be summoned for Physical Standards/ Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.

Interview/Personality Test: Candidates who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Tests, will be called for Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by UPSC. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 150 Marks.

Final Selection/ Merit: The merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.
