CUET exam pattern 2025 has undergone some major changes from this year onwards according to the UGC Chief, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar. The changes have been made to promote the efficiency of the admission exam for lakhs of undergraduate students who take admission. CUET Exam Pattern 2025
The UGC Chief, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar has announced several changes in CUET 2025 exam pattern. As per the Chief of UGC, the number of subjects will be reduced from 63 to 37 and admissions for programmes in dropped subjects will be based on the General Aptitude Test (GAT) scores. Other than this, the exam shall be held in CBT mode, i.e. online mode.
CUET Question Paper 2025 will be divided into three sections Section i.e., Section IA and IB, Section II, and Section III or General Test.
The CUET exam consists of three sections overall, i.e. Section 1A, Section 1B, domain-specific subjects and General Test. Section 1A is the language paper, section 2 is the domain-specific apper while the third section is the general test. CUET Exam Pattern 2025 Changes

- The students can now choose any subject for CUET exam, irrespective of their subjects in Class 12.

CUET Exam Pattern UG: Section Wise

CUET Section 1A and 1B subjects
The section 1A and 1B of the CUET exam are the language papers. It aims to check the candidate’s language efficiency. The languages that are included in CUET sections 1A and 1B as as follows:
Section 1A: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, and Urdu.
Section 1B: French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, and Chinese.
Section 2: A total of 27 languages are there in the CUET section 2 of the exam. This will be domain specific where candidates can select any one language out of 27 languages. The domain-specific subjects are listed below.
