The XAT syllabus 2025 exam is crucial for any test taker who wants to crack the XAT exam. XLRI Jamshedpur does not officially release the XAT syllabus, therefore an estimated XAT 2025 syllabus has been provided here for XAT exam aspirants. XAT Syllabus 2025 Subject Wise Weightage
XAT syllabus is prescribed by XLRI Jamshedpur. The syllabus includes questions from Verbal and logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge. The exam also has one unique section - Decision Making. Candidates have to study all the topics included in these four subjects to crack the XAT 2025 exam. XAT Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation Syllabus
Quant and DI together form the key section through which XAT aspirants can score good marks in the MBA entrance test. Syllabus or topics covered under this section include:
- Arithmetic: Equations, Time & Distance, Percentage, Time & Work, Profit & Loss, etc.
- Algebra / Pure Math: Polynomials, Probability, Trigonometry, Numbers, Geometry, Venn Diagram, Progressions, Mensuration, Miscellaneous, Permutation & Combination, Functions & Graphs, etc.
- Data Interpretation: Data Sufficiency, Bar Charts, Scatter Plots, Table, etc.
XAT Verbal & Logical Reasoning Syllabus
Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning is a section that tests the analytical skills of the candidates. Of the total 72 questions, candidates can expect around 24-25 questions from the Verbal & Logical Reasoning section. As per the past trends, the section difficulty level tends to be moderate to difficult.

Decision Making is another key section in the XAT exam pattern and the questions are generally asked in the form of cases. The question format generally tends to focus around decision making, in which candidates are provided with a problem and they have to pick the most viable solution for it. XAT General Knowledge Syllabus
General Knowledge is a very vast section and covering it in its entirety is nearly impossible. Therefore, MBA aspirants have to adopt a tactical approach for handling the GK section of Paper 2 of the XAT exam. The section consists of General Knowledge questions that range from both, static GK as well as current affairs or ongoing events. XAT Essay Writing Syllabus
Since 2019, Essay writing was scrapped from the CAT syllabus. Therefore, candidates must focus on the GK section to earn brownie points in Part 2 of the exam for which 15 minutes will be allotted to attempt the exam.
