IBPS PO 2019 Tips & Strategy: Get here the last-minute tips and strategies to score high in the IBPS PO Prelims 2019 Exam. Lakhs of aspirants are going to appear for the IBPS PO Recruitment exam this year and there are a total of 4336 Vacancies for the post of Probationary Officers/Management Trainee in the public sector banks. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be conducting the IBPS PO Prelims 2019 exam on the coming Saturday & Sunday – 12th & 13th October 2019. The online exam will be conducted in four different shifts on both days. The Question Paper sets will be different for each shift. IBPS has already released the IBPS PO Prelims Admit Card @ibps.in. The Admit Card contains all the details of the shift timing and the exam date.

1. Prepare a section-wise strategy to attempt the Prelims

As per the IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern, 100 MCQs will be asked from three sections – Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English. There is sectional timing of 20 minutes for each of these sections. In order to attempt the questions with high accuracy and within the given time frame, candidates should prepare a proper section-wise strategy. 2. Revise through Previous Years Papers & Mock Tests

These last few days are not meant for deep studies. Candidates should devote this time for revision. Brush-up your preparations by going through the previous years’ questions papers, practice papers and mock tests. If you have already attempted or practised the papers, then analyse them to know your weak and strong areas. This will also give you a good idea about the type of questions asked in the Prelims exam.

3. Avoid guesswork & focus on accuracy

In IBPS PO Prelims Exam, there will be a penalty for the wrong answer given by the candidates. Each wrong answer will invite a negative marking of 0.25 marks. Above that, candidates need to fetch the cut off marks to qualify for the next round – Mains Exam. In such a scenario, the candidates’ focus should be on delivering accurate answers. Candidates should avoid guesswork and try to attempt questions with accuracy. If you are not sure about the correct option in a particular question, then adopt the eliminating approach. Take the calculated risk and eliminate the options that do not go with the question. This might work well for you to avoid getting stuck in a particular question.

4. Time Management

Candidates’ main focus should be to manage the time properly while attempting the exam. Candidates need to attempt 30/35 questions in time duration of 20 minutes. To attempt as many questions with high accuracy, it is advisable that candidates should avoid spending much time in any particular question. Candidates should not devote more than 1 minute to a question.

5. Carry essential documents – Admit Card & ID Proof

Do not forget to carry essential documents such as IBPS PO Admit Card, Photo ID Proof and photograph to the examination centre. Candidates who forget to carry these documents to the exam centre will not be allowed to enter the centre. Try to reach the exam centre 15-20 minutes before the reporting time.
