KTET 2024 Exam: Nov Answer Key Out, Result, Cut Off, Syllabus, Pattern

KTET full form is Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test (KTET). It is a certification exam for candidates who wish to apply for a teacher's job in various schools of Kerala. The exam is organised by the  Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan for those who wish to teach Lower Primary and Upper Primary schools in Kerala. KTET exam is conducted per the guidelines laid down by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Kerala along with regulations put forth by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)/ Department of General Education/Government of Kerala.  The KTET 2024 November exam was held on January 18 and 19, 2025 for which the answer key has been released on 30th January 2025. The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan released the KTET hall ticket 2024 for November session on January 8, 2025. Candidates who have applied for the exam can download the hall ticket online on the official website- ktet.kerala.gov.in. The KTET exam is scheduled for January 18 and 19, 2025.

The following table has important information related to KTET November exam. The apply online link was active from November 11 to 25, 2024. The admit card for the same is supposed to be out today while the exam is scheduled for January 18th and 19th 2025. 

Knowing the KTET Exam Dates for each stage of the selection process is important for the candidates to plan their preparation accordingly. The stage-wise exam dates are listed below. 

KTET 2024 Admit Card 

The Kerala TET hall ticket is to be out on January 8, 2025. The exam is scheduled for January 18 and 19, 2025 in two shifts on both days. The first shift is from 10 am to 12.30 pm, and the second shift is from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. Candidates can download the KTET hall ticket online from the official website once it is released.

KTET Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates who wish to apply for the KTET exam must posses the eligibility criteria as required. Candidates can apply for Category 1, Category 2, Category 3 and Category 4 for which the eligibility criteria is needed to be fulfilled. We have shared the details of Kerala TET eligibility below.

Note: Candidates from SC/ST and differently-abled categories shall be granted a relaxation of 5 per cent marks in the minimum qualifying marks. A relaxation of 3 per cent in the qualifying marks is admissible to OBC & OEC candidates to appear for the K-TET- III.

KTET Eligibility Criteria for Category 1 (Lower Primary Classes)

Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary or (or its equivalent) with at least 45 per cent marks and two years Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.

OR

Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45 per cent marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002.

OR

Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd).

OR

Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

KTET Eligibility Criteria for Category 2 (Upper Primary Classes)

Aspirants meet KTET eligibility criteria if they possess any of the below-mentioned educational qualifications:

BA/BSc/BCom and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.

OR

BA/BSc/BCom with at least 45 per cent marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (BEd), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (BElEd)

OR

Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks and 4-year BA/B.Sc.Ed or BA Ed or B.Sc.Ed.

KTET Eligibility Criteria for Category 3 (High School Classes)

Aspirants meet KTET eligibility criteria if they possess any of the below-mentioned educational qualifications:

• BA/BSc/BCom with at least 45 per cent marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned (from any one of the Universities in Kerala or have acquired these qualifications from any other Universities recognised as equivalent thereto)
• For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, those who have an MScEd Degree in the subject concerned with not less than 50 per cent marks from one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT will be eligible to apply. For Botany and Zoology subjects, those with an MScEd Degree in Life Science with not less than 50 per cent marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education are eligible to apply.
• BA or equivalent with at least 45 per cent marks and who passed in LTTC are eligible to apply.

Additional eligibility criteria for KTET 2024  Category II aspirants are as follows:

• Candidates, who have acquired a Diploma/Degree in teaching in any subject and are approved by Universities/NCTE/Board of Examinations/Govt. of Kerala, are eligible to apply for K-TET III. They will have to produce the equivalency certificate as recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala/the Government of Kerala.
• Candidates who have acquired their qualifications through recognised correspondence courses/ Open universities should obtain and furnish certificates of recognition and equivalency from any one of the Universities in Kerala.
• For considering the minimum qualifications, the marks for main and subsidiary papers only will be considered.

KTET Eligibility Criteria for Category 4 (Language Teachers, Specialist Teachers and Physical Education teachers)

Candidates who possess the required qualifications for the post of Language Teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit & Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers as mentioned in Chapter XXXI of KERALA EDUCATION ACT AND RULES are eligible to apply for KTET 4.
